1. What did you do in 2009 that you’ve never done before?
Read up on financial intelligence & business savvy, then actually signing up for a full-fledged small-time franchise for kicks.
2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Some of them, yeah. & I'll definitely make more! ♥
Let's start with updating LiveJournal crazily again & more often, including getting another paid account!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, so far.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thank God, NO.
5. What countries did you visit?
None. I couldn't even visit certain cities nearby, or my neighborhood mall that much anymore!
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
More money for recreation, more time for sleep, more energy, my dream job du jour.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
December 31st. It was a really special day for me. For the first time in 2 years I received word at the last minute that I could take a voluntary time off (VTO) from work for the entire New Year's Eve after slaving my life away on Christmas. There were only 2 of us who were chosen among them Yuletide-shift peons, but I'm most probably the only one among them who was lucky enough to stay at home for the NYE. There were people who filed for VTOs earlier, though, but this was such a welcome surprise, because I actually didn't. Oh, God. ♥ 2009 was my first year ever, btw, to enjoy VTOs, starting November 4th, 5th, then 30th, then December 15th.
September 24th to 26th. I was so happy that my boss approved my 2-day birthday leave from work, but who could ever forget the onslaught that was Ondoy (Ketsana)? I spent most of that long weekend off praying for other people as well as for my household's safety, donating money via SMS, & following updates on Twitter. WTH. So much for a birthday celebration. But I'm happy because my brother got me a huge box of chocolate sans rival & my ex gave me a paid Flickr account.
March 15th, & the week after that. I commemorated my dad's first death anniversary (how fucking oxymoronic) & my sister's 29th birthday with my birthday posse (Zhy, Rissa, Lynne, & my brother Sonny). Then while I was de-cluttering my room at the last minute for the gang, I chanced upon them old condolence envelopes for my dad last year, & I saw the envelope that one of my best friends Shey's parents signed & gave to me personally. I remembered how that was the very first time I got to talk to them & how they were very accommodating, to think I never really got to interact with them when I was still hanging out at their place a decade or so. Especially Shey's dad. I remember being piss-drunk at his birthday party, & it was so embarrassing. But I think he & his wife already forgave me for it, haha. We talked about our separate lives in Sangley Point & our mutual friends. Guess what. Fast forward to this summer, I received word from Shey that he already passed away, & of course I was so taken aback. :( I rushed to her place after getting an ocean blue candle for him (her dad was a commander in the Navy, coincidentally) & a bad haircut. It was Venus in retrograde, after all. Again, I was happy to see Shey again & goof off with her kid sister Barby & friends at their dad's wake, then I finally met her cousin Judy in person. It was a most surreal time. Since then, I've had Tarot readings with the departed giving very clear messages to me for my querents. :(
October 20th, then 22nd. I got into
Human Heart Nature personal care products. ♥ Thanks to Fristine, Lornadahl's best friend, I got hooked. I love how I'm helping Gawad Kalinga & treating the environment as well as myself better everytime I use the stuff I love from them. I love their mandarin orange-smelling shampoo & conditioner & hand sanitizer, their mango-smelling hand & body lotion with goat's milk & cocoa butter, & their peppermint lip balm. Plus I love how my coworkers are getting into this line through me!
October 31st. The highlight of my Halloween: I loaded up on more calories via carpaccio panna cotta, foie gras, & roasted bone marrow with truffle. GAH. I'm going back to Pepato. But I'll stick to
well-done stuff & prosciutto & my staple pasta & salad because I'm not really experimental like that. *squeamish*
August 1st. I finally saw my other best friend Cres again & met her new hubby Hermann & their shy but very observant firstborn Hyacinth. She gave me my new tarot decks as an early birthday present, & I wish I stayed longer to bond with the new couple.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting more renowned for my New Age pursuits. ♥
I also had 6 commendations in my day job in less than half a year.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Getting suspended for 20 days, haha, & failing my scorecards, resulting to undergoing a Performance Improvement Plan, but I think I'm fine now.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes, my back hurt like a bitch, I got really painful & heavy periods, & my blood pressure would rise to 140/100. Gah.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I can't really decide. I bought a shitload of stuff anyway. There's my red smartphone that needs a software upgrade so I can finally send text messages again, & there's my Belle de Jour 2010 planner, & yeah, my Human Heart Nature bath stuff.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Downed Sting, cussed, reported sick to work, hung out with losers, spent on stupid calls.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
Like I said, I reported to work, & liked last year's Christmas corporate lunch/dinner than this year's Italianni's-catered stint, & had my whole back plastered in pain even if I already took 2 shots of painkillers & slathered Oleia like mad, which really didn't help.

I think so. Nothing major.
22. How many one-night stands?
